Yes to party

There are a couple of authors who seem interested in collaborating with you on your next novel. You’re not sure, sometimes collaborations are either hit or miss. Going over to the open bar you ask nicely for a Blue Moon.

“Right away sir!” The bartender says.

After the bartender pours you the drink; he asks you if you want it with an orange slice.

“That sounds good, thanks.” You look at the bartender’s name tag, “Stephen,” you say in reply. Instead of putting the money in the tip jar you slide a $20 bill directly to Stephen.

“I’m sure someone else who gets half those tips, and they don’t even lift a finger” you say.

Stephen takes the $20 bill and slides it into his front pocket.

“Thanks. You know I used to work full-time at Amazon, but they replaced by job with AI, and I didn’t even receive a severance,” Stephen says.

“Sorry to hear that,” you reply. “That sucks. When it comes to AI, major tech companies don’t care about ethics.”

“You know,” Stephen says in a whisper as he leans over the bar, “there is a facility not far from here where Open AI is training their next Chat GPT. I hear it will replace every author in this room…”
