No To Party

You decided not to attend the party. That’s okay, you’re busy working on your newest book: Star Knights. You are someone who goes to sleep at 9 PM in order to work on your manuscript at 5 AM. Unfortunately, you’re rolling around in bed unable to sleep. The partner sleeping next to you seems like they’re sleeping peacefully, something has been bothering you. The last time you visited your editor at the publishing house you thought you overheard something about AI behind closed doors. A string of sentences you probably misheard; “If they bought………..from Google……and………replace screenwriters……..why not?” Maybe you should have attended the party. It’s possible it might have been a good idea to dig around for information.

Blue light appears from the darkness as you open your laptop screen. There is a Facebook post from one of your author friends named Nora Roberts which reads: “If creators aren’t compensated fairly, they can’t afford to create. If writers aren’t paid to write, they can’t afford to write. Human beings create and write stories human beings read. We’re not robots to be programmed, and AI can’t create human stories without taking from human stories already written.” You scroll through the comments section which features all of your author friends agreeing with Nora, except for one person at the very end; their comment reads:
